The clinical research of my team focuses on environmental risks and racial disparities in the onset and outcomes of lupus nephritis and its treament. Factors influencing progression to end stage renal disease and fertility preservation during cyclophosphamide therapy for lupus nephritis have been major efforts in our work. Along with Drs Ronald Falk and Charles Jennette we active in the study of glomerular diseases through the The Glomerular Disease Collaborative Network and the associated registries. Over 1600 lupus nephritis renal biopsies are included in the registry which includes nephropathology, clinical and epidemiologic studies on lupus nephritis. The registry is a unique resource for researchers interested in epidemiology, biomarkers, and pathophysiology of lupus nephritis and other immune mediated glomerulonephropathies.
