Directions to ACC

Directions to the ACC:

The Ambulatory Care Center (ACC) opened its doors in 1992. Seeking to meet the needs of growing patient demand, this new facility has increased the UNC Medical Center's outpatient treatment capacity, helping to alleviate the strained facilities at UNC Hospitals.

The ACC provides state-of-the-art care in an aesthetic, friendly and comfortable setting. The 130,000 square foot facility contains an outpatient surgery suite (including four operating rooms and recovery area), onsite radiology and a pharmacy, and is able to accommodate 250,000 outpatient visits per year. Here patients also have access to Social Workers, Physical and Occupational Therapy, and Nutrition services as well as patient registration, medical records and an optical shop.

The following departments of the Medical School provide supervision for Fellows and residents to diagnose and treat patients at the ACC: Anesthesiology, Dermatology, Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Ophthalmology, Pathology, Pediatrics, Radiology, and Surgery. The ACC also provides specialty services for arthritis, geriatrics, allergy, transplantation, hypertension, otolaryngology, orthopaedics, and plastic and vascular surgery.
